Pursuant to Colorado Revised Statute 16-22-112, most recently modified and amended by Colorado House Bill 1035, law enforcement agencies are authorized to release information about registered sex offenders living within the agency’s jurisdiction on the agency’s web site.
The confidential information is provided to you so that you can adequately protect yourself and your children from these individuals.
Due to the mature content of the registry information, it is not advisable to disseminate registry information to children. It is strongly encouraged that a parent or guardian discuss the information with children and educate children regarding personal safety strategies.
The sex offender registry includes only those persons who have been required by law to register and who are in compliance with the sex offender registration laws. You should not rely solely on the sex offender registry as a safeguard against perpetrators of sexual assault in your community. The crime for which a person is convicted may not accurately reflect the level of risk.
Most sex offenders live in the community under criminal justice supervision (probation or parole), and supervising officers, in cooperation with other professionals, monitor their residences, activities, and compliance with court conditions. Some sex offenders are under no supervision, as they have already served their sentences but are still required to register with law enforcement.
VIGILANTISM, OR USE OF THIS SEX OFFENDER REGISTRY INFORMATION TO HARASS, THREATEN, OR INTIMIDATE ANY REGISTERED SEX OFFENDER, HIS/HER SIGNIFICANT OTHERS, OR ANY MEMBER OF THEIR COMMUNITY SUPERVISION TEAM WILL NOT BE TOLERATED AND WILL RESULT IN CRIMINAL PROSECUTION.
The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office is available to provide useful information regarding sexual assault and personal safety, and to make referrals to other local resources to help those who have been impacted by sexual assault. If you have information regarding current criminal activity of these or any other offenders, please call 911 if it is an emergency. If it is not an emergency, please call 719-390-5555.
If you have any questions regarding the sex offender registry or you need more information about any individual(s) listed, please call 719-520-7333.
